    • this serene abstract desert landscape was painted by Philip North some time in the 1980's. 
    • North was born in Michigan, in 1917,  he studied various styles of art at Grand Rapids Junior College and later taught art at the Grand Rapids Art Gallery in Michigan.  Being an enthusiastic, energetic and adventurous man, North moved to Arizona in 1980 where he began incorporating his inspiration of the desert landscape into his paintings
